Use case

Reduce cart abandonmentAnswer the last question before the shopper leaves.

Many purchases fail on one last question: when will it arrive, will it fit, how do returns work? askVela answers right in the chat, reaches hesitant visitors at the right moment and brings abandoned checkouts back.

Why carts get left behind

Some abandonment has nothing to do with your store: shoppers compare, save something for later or get interrupted. Some of it does. Shipping costs show up late, delivery time is unclear, a question about size, material or returns goes unanswered. If asking means writing an email, many simply don't buy.

That's where askVela comes in. The AI answers questions about shipping, delivery time, payment, returns and products in seconds from your help pages and product data, at night and on weekends too. Flows reach visitors who hesitate, and on Shopify askVela follows up on abandoned checkouts.

What it looks like · Example with made-up data

If I order today, will the jacket arrive by Saturday?

According to the shipping page, orders placed by 2 pm leave the warehouse the same day and delivery takes one to two business days. So Saturday usually works. The Fjell jacket is available in M.Product card: Fjell rain jacket · €129.00

And if it doesn't fit?

You can send it back within 30 days, and return shipping is free according to the returns page. Shall I show you the size chart?

The answers come from the example store's help pages and product data. If something isn't there, the AI asks or hands over to your team.

How askVela catches abandonment

Answers in seconds

The AI answers shipping, delivery time, payment, returns and product details from your help pages and product data, with a source and in the customer's language.

Reach out at the right moment

Flows start on exit intent, after time on page, at a scroll depth or when something lands in the cart. Conditions like cart value, device or page narrow them down.

A coupon as the final nudge

The “Send coupon” block drops a code right into the chat. With the A/B split you test whether the coupon is needed at all.

Checkout reminder on Shopify

When a customer abandons checkout, askVela can send exactly one reminder email with the link back to the checkout, through your own mail channel.

Set up in three steps

  1. 01

    Check your knowledge

Import your shipping, payment and returns pages into askVela and ask the typical pre-purchase questions in the test console.

  2. 02

    Create a flow

Pick a trigger in the flow builder, such as exit intent on the cart page, and add a message, product cards or a coupon.

  3. 03

    Turn on checkout reminders

On Shopify, enable the abandoned checkout reminder and connect your own mail channel.

Good to know

  • The checkout reminder is available for Shopify. It goes out exactly once, no sooner than one hour later, within 24 hours and only to customers with marketing consent.
  • Exit intent detects the mouse leaving the window, so it works on desktop. On mobile, time on page and scroll depth take over.
  • You create coupon codes in your store, and askVela sends them in the chat.

Frequently asked questions

01Does this work without Shopify?

Yes. Answers from help pages and catalog plus flows on exit intent, time and scroll depth run in any store. The “Add to cart” trigger and the add-to-cart button in the chat work directly on Shopify and WooCommerce, and in other stores via a custom event or the product page.

02Won't this annoy my customers?

You decide when a flow starts, on which pages and for whom. askVela catches most abandonment simply by answering questions the moment the customer asks.

03How do I measure success?

Shopify reports purchases automatically, and on WooCommerce the plugin does it. Your dashboard shows which revenue followed a chat.

04What does it cost?

Flows and AI answers are included in every plan: €39, €99, or €249 per month with 1,000, 4,000, or 12,000 AI answers per month. 14-day free trial, no credit card.
