AI answers
What counts as an AI answer
An AI answer is a message the AI sends to a customer: in the chat, by email or in a connected channel. Other vendors bill per seat, per resolved case or per conversation. With askVela only the AI's answer counts. Your team, your tickets and your conversations cost nothing extra.
The quota applies for 30 days from the first answer. Extra packs you buy don't expire until you've used them.

You only buy packs when the quota runs short; without a pack the AI hands over to your team. Packs are currently not available when billing runs through Shopify. Run your own numbers in the cost calculator.
When the quota runs out
- At 80 and at 100 percent you get an email, and the dashboard shows your usage at any time.
- Once the quota is used up, the AI stops answering new questions and hands over to your team. The chat keeps working normally for your team.
- An extra pack gets you going again right away: 1,000 answers for €25. If you like, askVela buys packs automatically when a card is on file.
- Your plan never changes on its own.
Pays-for-itself guarantee
If it doesn't pay for itself, you get the fee back.
If after the first 60 days your dashboard shows less attributed revenue than you paid askVela in that time, we refund the plan fee for that period.
- It is measured with the purchase attribution in your own askVela dashboard.
- During that time the chat widget must be live and your store connected, via plugin or app.
- The period is the first 60 days after the free trial; extra packs are not included.
- The guarantee applies once per customer. Request it by email within 30 days after the period ends.
Pricing questions
01Are the prices net or gross?
All prices exclude VAT. askVela is for businesses; your contracting party is askVela Limited, based in Leeds (United Kingdom).
02Is there annual pricing?
At the moment all plans are billed monthly. You can cancel at any time with effect from the end of the current period.
03What happens after the trial?
The trial lasts 14 days, without a credit card, with 500 AI answers and the features of the middle plan. After that everything keeps running for two more days; if you don't choose a plan, the AI pauses. Your data is kept.
04How do I cancel?
At any time with effect from the end of the current billing period, with no minimum term. Your plan stays available until then. We don't refund periods already paid pro rata; the exception is the pays-for-itself guarantee.
05I use Shopify. Do I pay through Shopify?
If you install askVela from the Shopify App Store, Shopify bills the plan, in US dollars and at the prices and trial terms shown in the App Store. Extra packs currently can't be added there.
06Do I need a seat for everyone on my team?
No. Every plan includes unlimited agents. The price depends on the AI quota and on a few plan extras.
07What else differs between the plans?
A few extras: on the smallest plan the widget shows a “Powered by askVela” notice, which larger plans can remove. Several stores under one login come with the largest plan. The plan cards above are authoritative.
08Is there a free plan?
