Copy the script tag
In askVela, copy the script tag under Settings → Installation & tech → Embed widget → Other website.

Add it to Gambio
Place the script tag before the closing </body> tag, for example through the custom scripts or tracking code area of your Gambio backend or directly in the template. Then clear the store cache.

Connect your catalog
Under Products, scan your store with “Scan from website”, or add a product export as a CSV or XML feed under Products → Data sources.
How your range gets into the chat
askVela runs in any Gambio store through a script tag. You don't need a module: the widget loads on every page, your catalog comes in through the website scan or a product export, and the AI answers from products and help pages, every answer with a source.
The website scan reads your store's structured product data (JSON-LD and microdata) and sitemap. If your template outputs this data, askVela knows products, variants, prices and availability with no extra work.
Alternatively, add a product export, for example in Google Merchant format, as a feed. askVela fetches it regularly, every six hours by default, to keep the catalog up to date.
Order status in the chat
For order questions, connect askVela to a small endpoint in your store that returns the orders for an email address as JSON. askVela signs every request with a shared secret (HMAC-SHA256). The AI then answers status, shipping and tracking link right in the chat.
Good to know
- Product cards show image and price and lead straight to the product page in your store.
- Items with known stock appear as product cards. Keep availability up to date in your feed or structured data.
- For purchase attribution in the dashboard, your store reports orders to askVela via a signed webhook.
