Canva Pro/Team: Upload fonts and share brand assets
Premiumelite · Updated on 18 October 2026
If you want to upload fonts or use brand assets in Canva and a message appears saying that only an admin can do this, it’s due to the permissions in the team account.
What the message means
- Even with Pro, certain brand or team features may only be available through admin rights.
- If brand assets have not yet been set up, they must be added or approved by an admin in the team.
- The Owner role does not automatically mean that every team approval is already active in every case.
What you should check
- Whether your account is part of a team/workspace account.
- Whether Canva actually shows you as Admin or only as a different role.
- Whether there is a link to an unknown teacher or another organized environment.
What we did in such cases
- The case was forwarded to the technical department.
- The technical review should be processed within 24 hours or at the latest after a response has been received.
Team and profile switch
- You can switch between profiles at the bottom left via your profile picture.
- In a follow-up email, there may also be instructions for transferring projects.
FAQ
Why do I need an admin even though I have Pro?
Because certain features in a team or workspace account can also depend on team permissions.
Can I upload fonts myself directly?
If the message refers to admin rights, approval or setup must first take place within the team.
Can I also use the Pro version in the desktop app?
Yes, switching between profiles is generally possible; it is done via your profile picture at the bottom left.
